Halloween Fun!!!

Halloween was so much fun this year. Kent, Kyle and I started off the day by carving our pumpkins, which I have to say turned out pretty good. Then we were off to a party, which was hosted by some great friends. I have to share a few pictures of the kids at the party. These little ones did a fantastic job dressing up for the costume contest. Kyle received the most scariest and yes he was very scary. He made one little girl cry and didn't even mean to. He really felt bad about it afterwards. Around seven we were back home greeting our little trick or treaters, which is always fun. Kyle and I left dad behind to pass out candy and we were off with some of Kyle's friends to do a little trick or treating ourselves. The weather was perfect and everyone had a blast.

Fredericksburg Wine Festival

Great times at the 2009 Fredericksburg Food and Wine Festival. This was our sixth year attending and we had just as much fun this time around as we did the first year. It's always a blast drinking wine and dancing around with wonderful friends. We've been so blessed to be surrounded by wonderful friends!

39 months and still waiting............

Yes, it's been 39 months today and we are still waiting for our referral. We really don't know how much longer we'll wait or we'll have to wait, but what we do know is one day having Jadyn Nicole home with us will be so worth the wait. It's God's plan.

KISSES IN THE WIND

KISSES IN THE WIND
(for our daughter in China)
We hold you in our hearts and touch you in our dreams.
You are here each day with us,at least that's how it seems.
We know you wonder where we are...what's taking us so long.
But remember child,We love you so and God will keep you strong.
Now go outside and feel the breezeand let it touch your skin...
Because tonight, just as always,We blow you kisses in the wind.
May God hold you in His handuntil We can be with you.
We promise you, our darling,We're doing all that We can do.
Very soon, you'll have a family for real, not just pretend.
But for tonight, just as always,We blow you kisses in the wind.
May God wrap you in His armsand hold you very tight.
And let the angels bring the kissesthat We send to you each night.--- Unknown

Kyle's B-Day Party

Kyle turned 11 this year. I can't believe how fast each year seems to fly by. This year he decided to have his birthday party at Thunderbird Skating Rink. He and some of his closest friends had a blast bringing in his special day. After the skating party we continued the celebration at our house, which lasted well into the night. Needless to say...mom and dad were worn out!

Kyle is truly the light of my life!

Look who's wake-boarding.......

Kyle's 1st Day of 5th Grade

I can't believe my baby is in 5th grade. He is growing up way to fast for my liking.
Look at that face. I'm really not sure what was up with that.

Vacation 2009 - What a blast!!!

Church Camp Fun

Kent and Kyle were at Church Camp last week and boy did I miss them. A week alone was nice the first day or two, but I would rather have them home with me. They had a great time as you can see from the pictures below.

Proud Moments!!!

HE DID IT - Kyle is SKIING!!!
This was the weekend....YES, this was the weekend Kyle learned how to ski.

My oldest and dearest friend also came into town this weekend. We started off the weekend, Friday night with a little party at our house...we had to show Michelle how the Dallas folk PARTYYYY. We had so much fun drinking margaritas and grilling out with the Posey's and the Privett family. Saturday was filled with great food and a little shopping and Sunday was the big day for Kyle. Michelle was a big help with getting Kyle up. She helped coach him and it worked...sometimes Kyle listens better to Michelle than he does his own parents. Whatever it takes...IT WORKED. It was a great weekend all around.
I had to add this one in too. I took this picture of Kent and Izzy snuggling this weekend and thought it was the cutest! He loves her so much....can you tell?

"Jadyn Nicole" - Always on our minds!

As most of you are aware Kent and I have been in the adoption process for 3 1/2 years and the wait just continues to grow and the hole in my heart just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I want our daughter home! Kyle wants his sister home and there is nothing I can do about it and it drives me crazy. I feel like the last 3 1/2 years of wishing and praying haven't gotten us any closer. Don't get me wrong...I truly believe that we will all be together one day...I just wish I knew when that day was.

As I patiently wait for our referral I think about where our little one is...what is she going to look like...is she being taken care of...has she even been born yet...how old will she be when we receive our referral...is she going to love us as much as we love her... All of these questions just go unanswered. If I had one wish I would wish that this wait was over and our "Jadyn Nicole" was home! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers! We want a miracle.

Hot Summer Day in July

This weekend Kyle received a lesson from Dad on how to take care of the lawn. He was so excited about it at first, but an hour into it he had enough. Kent on the other hand wouldn't stop until it was all taken care of...which I was very thankful for. By the end of the day the yard looked beautiful and everyone was happy, especially Kyle.

During the summer we have hot-air-balloons fly over the house at least once a weekend. These balloons drive our dogs crazy, but we love them. I always take pictures so below are a few shots for you to enjoy.
Life is good! :)

Great Times

Last night we celebrated a special birthday with our dear friends. Every time we're out with this family we have a blast and last night was no different. Joann tuned 30 - something and looks like she's 20 - something. She is an amazing mom, wife and friend. I think it's her three girls that keep her young. These girls are wild and crazy!

Me and my baby boy. He is growing up SO fast it makes my heart hurt!!!!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Honey...You are my life...my love...my very best friend!

Father's Day was so much fun. Kent, Kyle and I spent the day at the lake. Yes, just the three of us and it was perfect. Kent and I want to teach Kyle how to ski this year. We didn't accomplish our goal this weekend, but still had a blast. By the end of the day Kyle was knee-boarding. It was the cutest thing ever. Enjoy the pictures.

Baby Shower Fun!!

Happy Memorial Day!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend. To kick the holiday off we spent Sunday with some great friends. The day started off with swimming, jumping on the trampoline, BBQing and for the adults a little Pina-colada time, then we were off to Adriatica. Once we got the crew to Adriatica we enjoyed music by a number of smaller bands and Little Big Town from Nashville, TN. The kids had more activities then they could keep up with. They enjoyed bounce houses, a helicopter tour/walk thru, hot air balloon rides, dancing and a firworks show. We need more weekend like this one.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was perfect. My wonderful husband and beautiful son took me to lunch and then showered me with gifts...I couldn't have asked for anything more. The flowers were from KJ and I just love them. He is growing up to be the sweetest young man and I'm so proud of him. I just can't believe how fast he's growing.

The meeting with our social worker the week before last went great. Of course everything was in order and we will be sending off our packet this week. WooHoo....Now, we just hope we receive our referral before everything expires again. It sounds like we have another year or more to wait. This process is just unbelievable!! I'm so frustrated.... :(

May 2, 2009

What a day!

Today our social worker is coming by to evaluate us for the adoption. This is the third home study we've been through and you would think it would get easier....let me tell you it doesn't...at least not for me. Our social worker is the kindest lady and I really don't have anything to worry about. I just feel like everything has to be perfect. I've been cleaning like a mad woman for the last two hours and I think I'm driving my husband crazy. I am so ready to have this behind us.

Happy 12th Anniversary

On April 12, 1997 I married my best friend. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. With God's blessing we will continue to grow and be there for one another. Happy Anniversary Honey!
True Love is like a flower that always blooms in your heart.
Springing forth from the divine, clearer than the cleanest water.
Forever blossoming in your heart, as you will always see,
For God knows no boundaries and this is all true Love can be.

Adoption Update

We would like to give everyone an update on our adoption. Over the next week or two we will begin to renew our paperwork for the third time in three years. We've been informed that the wait could be another year and we need to make sure our paperwork doesn't expire between now and then. Currently the documents we have filed will expire in June 2009.

We are PRAYING that this will be the final time we have to go through these steps and that sometime next year our daughter will be looking up at us like this beautiful little one.

Please keep us in your prayers. Love to all!!!

Education in Action!!

What a great day. . . This year our field trip was to the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum and the Texas State Capitol in Austin. We began the day with a 3 1/2 hour bus ride to Austin. We were off at 6:30 a.m., which was very early for 200 4th graders. I thought most of them would be sleeping on the journey there, but boy was I wrong. These kids had so much energy it was just amazing. I think all of the parents gave them COKE before handing them over to us. As soon as the sun set we had games prepared to keep them entertained, which helped make the trip go a little faster. Kyle's class has been studying Texas History over the last few months and they were all very prepared for this trip.

Below are a few of the pictures. I hope these kiddos remember this trip for a long time.

By the time we got home (8:30 p.m.) they were all WORN-OUT and so were the teachers and parents!!

Vanessa & Zach's Big Day

This weekend we celebrated a very special day with some great friends.

Congratulations Vanessa and Zac. We love you guys HUGE!!

This was the prettiest wedding I have ever attended. Everything was so perfect. The bride is a very dear friend of ours and we've been so blessed to have her in our lives. Vanessa is the kindest, funniest and prettiest girl I know. As you will see from the pictures Kyle feels the same way. Vanessa was Kyle's teacher when he was two years old and he feel in love with her the very first day they met.
I think he's heartbroken.
